What was your inspiration for the ad?
I first thought of the recycling symbol on the scrap metal. I designed the rest of the ad around this concept. Scrap metal has some interesting shapes depending on how it’s used, so I included that in the design. I drew them in a pile similar to what you would see if you had a pile of junk to contrast the shapes. The recycling symbol indicates that the metal in the photo will be recycled. The metal appears to be engraved to advertise the company (D&W Salvage).
Why did you choose the company you were presenting?
I chose D&W Salvage because it was the first company I had an instant idea for. Recycling is also important, which is why it caught my attention.
Have you already participated in the Design an Ad competition?
This is my second year of participating in the Design an Ad competition.
What are your plans for the future?
After high school, I plan to go to college to study industrial engineering. What do you do in your free time? In my spare time I am involved with FIRST Robotics, FFA, NHS and volleyball. When I’m not doing any of these things, I love to paint, draw, hunt, and be outdoors.
