The Whittlesea Agricultural Society will host the first Christmas Tree Extravanganza

The Whittlesea Agricultural Society is asking the community to participate in the unveiling of the Whittlesea Community Christmas Tree in the society’s administration building.

With plenty of space in the building to display the trees, the company invited organizations, stores, trades, community groups, schools, individuals and any other interested parties to enter a tree decorating contest. of Christmas.

Trees can be provided by the company if people don’t have them.

Erica Hawke, president of the Whittlesea Agriculture Society, said the Christmas Tree Extravaganza gives everyone the opportunity to be creative when decorating their trees.

“Your tree can be decorated in a theme to suit your business or organization or just made to look pretty,” she said.

“For example, a mechanic can decorate his tree with business cards and tools, a doctor can decorate his tree with identification bands, the florist can decorate with flowers, etc.

“You can get creative and enter whatever you choose that is self-contained in the shape of a tree. It doesn’t have to be an actual tree.

Entry to the contest costs $10 per decorated tree, with all entry fees combined and donated to a community group or cause chosen by the public.

Decorated Christmas trees can be dropped off at the Administration Building, Gate One, McAPhees Road, Whittlesea by December 1.

People who decorate a tree provided by the company can do so in the week before December.

Entry is via a donation of gold coins, and the public will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Christmas tree.

The Christmas Tree Extravaganza will be open daily from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. from December 10 to December 23.

Sensory sessions will also be offered every Wednesday, the display is open from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
