The Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research (SFIAR) 2022

The Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research (SFIAR) offers an annual award to graduates and scientists from a Swiss institution who work in agricultural research for development.

Eligibility
Is eligible for the SFIAR prize research that
– falls within the thematic scope (see ARD definition above)
– was completed preferably less than three years ago, or is in progress with
achievements/milestones (for the award of the master’s thesis: master’s thesis submitted preferably less than 18 months ago)
– was carried out in or in close collaboration with a Swiss institution
– has involved partners (institutions and/or individuals) located in developing countries

covers at least one of the following characteristics:
a) partnership, awareness at farm level, results and impact
b) product development (or stages thereof)
c) tool or instrument that can be applied in the local context

  • The best doctoral project wins CHF 5,000 and the best Master’s thesis project CHF 1,000.
  • Submitting is not complicated.
  • The SFIAR award can help awardees undertake development work or receive project funding.

Awards
The Awards ceremony is organized by SFIAR or integrated into an event organized in Switzerland by one or more SFIAR members. The winner presents his project during the event.

Application procedure:

  • Applicants must complete the attached application form and provide the research summary (maximum 2 pages, including illustrations) and other documents mentioned on the form in English, French or German.
  • Applications that do not meet the formal requirements will not be considered.
  • The application deadline is July 14, 2022.
