Greg is on a snowmobile, so he’s really a Roger Moore Paso Doble. He looks spectacularly hot, although this Paso lacks a bit of attack and has no Spanish lines. Needs more practice and not fierce enough, unfortunately.
Shirley loves frogs and Rob looks adorable in this costume. There were a few mistakes there, but she’ll forgive them because he noticed them right away. Anton agrees there were some mistakes, but overall Robert has improved. Craig thought it was a bit choppy but the timing was great. Motsi agrees that Robert is improving and is on the right track.
I can’t take Robert seriously with a Kermit bike helmet and a green jumpsuit. Couldn’t they have put on makeup or did they use everything on Aljaz? As a Quickstep, it’s fine, even if it’s a bit stilted and disjointed in places.
It’s ROBERT ET DIANNE’s time! This week, they dance the Quickstep on the theme of the Muppets show of the Muppets, from the movie The Muppets. Drink it all.
Robert and Dianne are going to be Kermit and Miss Piggy, which is just plain wrong and weird. I saw this movie, but now I’m afraid this dance will ruin it forever. They want to bring the love of the muppets.
Scores: 8,9,9,9 – a total of 35 for AJ and Kai. DRINK DRINK DRINK DRINK.
Motsi was spellbound, there was so much sheer quality in it. Shirley loved the portrayal of the character and she really felt the love story. Anton loved the fleckerl, and Craig can’t believe AJ had never danced before – it was spectacular.
Well, it’s lovely, despite the fog around the ankles. AJ has a beautiful ballroom setting and makes this look easy. A magnificent alchemy between these two as well, and spectacular climbs. I loved it.
Then it’s AJ AND KAI! Their choice for Movie Week is American Smooth to ‘I Have Nothing’ by Whitney Houston, from The Bodyguard. AJ is proving to be the best all-rounder on this year’s show so far, and I can’t wait to see if she and Kai can deliver more chemistry than Whitney and Kevin Costner. Although that’s a low bar, to be fair. Obviously, I saw this movie, there is Whitney in it.
Incidentally, Georgia and Giovanni did a Smooth to this song in Blackpool, I vaguely remember Georgia descending from the sky on a giant moon. The song definitely lends itself to a Smooth with a Viennese twist, especially since AJ and Kai did a Foxtrot last week.
Scores: 7,7,7,7 – a total of 28 for Sara and Aljaz. I very clearly looked at something different. Sorry about that, I’ll watch the dance later.
