So that’s it for the first week! We’ve officially kicked off this Strictly party and the countdown to Christmas has begun. Let me know in the comments which are your favorites, and thank you very much for participating and for being funny and brilliant – I’ll lay in a dark room and read all of your comments. There are no results on Sunday tomorrow, but I will be back next Saturday at 6:45 pm for week 2. Have a good week, and see you soon!
My God, WHAT a series this is going to be. Right now Sara and Ugo are at the bottom of the rankings, but the scores are going to be carried over so let’s not count our glittering chickens.
The current favorites among my support team – John, Rose, AJ, Nina, Rhys and Adam. Almost certainly four of those six in the Grand Final in September, but it will be a great competition by then. But so nearly two decades of Strictly has taught us anything, it’s that anything can change in a Dave Arch drum beat, and I’m not very good at predicting things.
Craig was GLUED every moment of it, and Motsi loved the energy and charisma. Shirley loved how much the back part of Adam’s body oozed (OK, sure). Anton thought it was amazing, and Adam just needs to keep it going throughout the series.
Crikey, it’s hot in here.
GOOD. Adam isn’t just a pair of breaststroke shoulders and no shirt buttons, it turns out. It has very decent hip action and although it is lumpy and rough around the edges in places, there is huge potential here.
“I just got pregnant watching this,” said the other adult woman in the room.
AND FINALLY, it’s ADAM AND KATYA. Their opening dance is Måneskin’s Cha Cha Cha to ‘Beggin’. If you are wondering “who? So I’m afraid you’re dead for me. Måneskin are the Italian glam rockers who won Eurovision for Italy this year, and this is the Dave Arch version of their version of the classic Four Seasons from the 1960s. If the singers of Dave Arch don’t give it a twist gritty mocking Italian, I’m going to be very disappointed.
Everyone on my support team is looking forward to this, for many different reasons.
Scores: 8,8,9,9 – a total of 34 for AJ and Kai. DRINK DRINK DRINK.
Anton thought it was about as good as Strictly had ever seen it, it’s like we fell into week 9. Craig says AJ has to control his mom, she had Craig in a take head, but the dancing was amazing. Motsi thought it was the best dance of the night, and Shirley thought it was fearless – she never saw a Jive like this the first week. Drink it all, big scores are coming.
Loving AJ’s golden bangs, she has legs for DAYS. His kicks and Jive movies are superb and we have a competitor ourselves. It’s a complex, high energy from Kai with a lot of rhythm changes, but AJ makes it easy. I loved it.
It’s AJ AND KAI! Their first dance is DJ Fresh’s Jive to ‘Gold Dust’. I don’t think AJ was going to give us anything other than a high energy dance for the first week, I really hope she is going to give this Jive a lot of good.
Apparently, too, Kai is 26 years old. How is it possible ? Does fake tan inherently age? Has he spent too much time in Blackpool?
