KALISPELL – It was a special day at Logan Heath Children’s Hospital in Kalispell on Wednesday as more than 30 children chose Halloween costumes through a partnership with Spirit Halloween.
4-year-old Harleigh Hubbard from Kalispell is a huge Frozen fan, she couldn’t wait to pick out her Anna costume.
“She was telling us how much she wanted to be Anna, last night we watched the movie and fell asleep,” Harleigh’s mother Victoria Mooney told MTN News.
The costume giveaway is through a partnership with Spirit Halloween, with in-store donations going directly to children’s hospitals across the country.
“Just at our two locations Missoula and Kalispell, they raised almost $ 20,000, so our goal this year is to raise even more,” said Carly Rickard, Business Development Manager for Logan Health Children.
Rickard said the funds raised during Halloween support children all year round, through Child Life programs aimed at making hospital stays less frightening for children.
“Just to have this moment of being a kid I mean this is what is really about to give these kids back to childhood and I hope they will be demobilized soon and have now a whole new costume to wear when they go out. or-deal with their families, ”added Rickard.
Mooney said the costume gift helped relieve stress for parents in the hospital, allowing them to focus on their child’s recovery.
Donations can be made at any Spirit Halloween store until Halloween day. This year’s goal is to raise $ 13 million for children across the country.
