Jordan Fisher can be seen sporting the iconic look of the hero from the comics.
Jordan fisherBart Allen’s debut on The CW’s Flash can finally be seen courtesy of images from the production of the 150th episode of the show. Additionally, the first high-definition preview of the speedster allows Fisher to fight multiple enemies at once for the special episode.
FlashImpulse’s version gets a true-to-the-comic book costume that features the iconic colors of white and red. The design itself is a welcome departure from The CW’s typical leather / zipper approach, aligning with Flash’s latest and most stylish costume. Speaking of which, Fisher is one of the many speedsters that appear in the photos as he teams up with Grant Gustin and Jessica parker kennedy like Barry Allen and Nora West-Allen, respectively. Judging from the first look, Fisher’s debut on the show will have an unforeseen impact on the storyline and serve more than just a cameo.
Despite the resemblance to the source material in the pictures, this version of Bart Allen carries an important distinction from its comedic counterpart. Instead of being Barry Allen’s grandson, Fisher will act as the son of the Scarlet Speedster. The father-son dynamic with Barry will be exclusive to the TV series, but it’s not the only time that a live-action project has significantly changed its backstory. Impulse made her first live-action appearance in Smallville played by Kyle gallner; However, the series anchored him in the main timeline and eliminated Barry Allen altogether. The character appeared more recently on the animated show Young justice, where he was again the grandson of Barry Allen from a distant future, who ended up taking the Kid Flash torch after Wally West’s death.
The actor joins Flash as a fan favorite speedster who has a loyal fan base, which makes her first superhero role a tough one. However, Fisher is an acclaimed actor with a strong, likeable personality who is just getting started, so fans are unlikely to have a hard time embracing him with open arms. After causing a sensation on Broadway with roles in Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton, as well as live versions of musicals such as Fat and Rental, Fisher has sunk his teeth into behind-screen roles, with Netflix’s latest efforts To all the boys: PS I still love you and Work it.
The seventh season of Flash premiered on March 2, with new episodes airing every Tuesday on The CW.
