GTC Design is looking for a talented and motivated Job Captain / Project Manager to join our fast paced team. GTC is a booming design company in San Diego, we are growing at a rapid pace. Come be a part of something truly exhilarating!

We are looking for motivated and disciplined individuals who are well balanced with a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of architecture and construction. Applicants will be expected to efficiently execute work on one or more projects throughout the various phases of the design and construction process.

You will have the opportunity to work at all design levels such as general planning, feasibility studies, conceptual and schematic design, as well as construction documentation and administration. Projects will vary in size and typology, from residential and commercial design to both new construction and improvements to existing buildings.

Competitive salary will depend on experience.


  • Bachelor of Architecture or professional degree from an accredited college required

  • 3-7 years of experience required

  • Ability and desire to obtain a professional license in the near future required

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Bluebeam and Adobe suites required

  • Strong design sensibilities

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

  • Fun and positive outlook, strong work ethic, collaborative, productive and motivated

  • Flexibility to travel (moderate) required

  • Experience with preferred residential projects such as single and multi-family developments.

  • Possibility of obtaining NCARB certification preferably

  • LEED GA or AP preferred


  • Development of project documents (eg calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) in accordance with customer, regulatory and industry standards.

  • Coordination with other disciplines and other internal and external team members (eg suppliers, customers and contractors).

  • Research of materials and architectural methods as needed.

  • Work with the Principal Architect and clients to assess needs and develop an associated project program.

  • Develop conceptual designs and coordinate with the design team under the direction of the Principal Architect.

  • Develop the BIM model for design concepts, in coordination with the BIM coordinator and all other internal and external project team members.

  • Participate in the communication and coordination of internal and external projects related to the discipline.

  • Set and execute professional development goals.

  • Travel as needed for client development and project execution.
