When Kumar was questioned, he told police that the idea of identifying himself as a doctor came to him after watching the movie Kabir Singh. He then created a profile to attract women, and once he connected with the women, he would exchange numbers and start talking to them.

He would avoid video calls saying his mother was sick and within days he would convince them of his seriousness to marry them.

“Kumar had been doing this for four months and duped a lot of women. A few of them thought he was in a “difficult situation” but that they would eventually marry them. A woman even asked for a loan of Rs 5 lakhs for Kumar, ”he added.

Finally, the fraud was discovered after the police tracked him down using his ID card and arrested him in Lajpat Nagar.
