So what’s in store?
First of all, alongside traditional B2B events, this Show will also offer B2C meetings, open every day not only to professionals but also to the general public and non-professionals. The aim is to avoid being a purely commercial event, but rather to promote original crosses, openings, fusion and extraversion, while fully respecting health rules and protocols. The pieces exhibited at the fair will be purchasable, at special prices, for visitors. In addition, this year, a special initiative – “The Lost Graduation Show” – organized by Anniina Koivu, will offer design students from all over the world, graduating in 20/21, a unique opportunity to present their projects to the public at the Salone.
What to expect?
For the Fiera Milano Rho, the architect Stefano Boeri and his international team of collaborators – Andrea Caputo, Maria Cristina Didero, Anniina Koivu, Lukas Wegwerth and Marco Ferrari and Elisa Pasqual of Studio Folder – are working on innovative routes that will enhance the projects and products in a framework built on proximity, reflection and sharing. After long confinements, they are considering an event open to families as well, to collect different points of view on the world of domestic spaces. The proposed format is a large design library, to enhance and harmonize the new products and creations of companies over the last 18 months, products that will be presented through vertical walls, or even horizontal and modular surfaces. The Supersalone will also be sustainable and environmentally friendly, with materials and components designed to be taken apart and reused. In addition, a green reception area will be set up with 200 trees, which will be relocated to the Milan metropolitan area after the event.
