STOCKHOLM – Daniel Hansson has been chosen by the Board of Directors of Design House Stockholm to succeed Anders Färdig as the next CEO, effective December 1. At the same time, Åke Sundvall Holding AB will become a significant shareholder.
After 30 years at the helm, founder and creative director Färdig will hand him over to new management. “Design House Stockholm is a truly unique Scandinavian design publishing house with over 60 designers,” he said. “With growing prosperity, we have found our perfect new CEO in Daniel Hansson, who fully understands the role of design and has the ability to make new inroads into the international market. “
Hansson previously worked at Kinnevik and held various management positions within the H&M group for 15 years.
“Design House Stockholm’s passion for design suits me perfectly,” said Hansson. “I appreciate the strong business model, the right values and the extremely creative designers who support the making of innovative, first-class products for a global market. “
As of December 1, Färdig will continue to serve on the Board of Directors and advise the CEO on creative matters for an interim period.
At the same time, the ownership structure will change with the entry of Åke Sundvall Holding AB as one of the major shareholders. The Färdig family will hold a majority with 61% of the shares, which can be reduced through an option for the new CEO. Åke Sundvall Holding AB will own 31% and close business partners will hold an additional 8%.
