From the director:
The Williston Park Library is excited to announce our partnership with Page Turner Adventures to provide a fun and virtual summer experience for children.
Please refer to the calendar of events for children on our website, Each week will have a different theme and each day will offer a new experience: theater performances, stories, crafts, interviews with authors and illustrators of children’s books, contests, games, special guest artists, virtual excursions and much more. .
Monday is show day with a virtual storytelling show; Tuesday is Crafts Day with crafts, games, recipes, science experiments and other activities; Wednesday is Authors and Illustrators Day with fun interviews, readings, quizzes, book giveaways and other activities with children’s authors and illustrators; Thursday is Mashup Day with more crafts and activities; and Friday is Guest Day with special guests related to that week’s theme.

Our daily schedules are:

Navigation and collection in the vestibules: Monday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Open for navigation” means you can go inside, walk around the library, and search for books and other items. Please limit your time to 1 hour. Only one family will be allowed in the children’s room at a time.

Items requested by phone can be picked up in the Library lobby.

Please maintain social distancing practices while in the library.

All clients and staff are required to wear face coverings at all times while in the library, in accordance with Executive Order 202.17. Face covers should cover both the mouth and the nose.

Gathering is not allowed.

Three computers are available for public use for a 30 minute limit.

Please return items to outside book scraps. For security reasons, we cannot accept returned items inside the library!

Adult Programs
Virtual tour of the Pollock-Krasner house and study center — Tuesday — July 27 — 11 am-12pm via Zoom. Register in advance for this meeting: You will receive a confirmation email with information to join the meeting.
Empire Safety Defensive Driving Course – Thursday July 29 – 10 am-4pm in the meeting room of the village hall. Open to drivers of all ages. $ 28 per person (check or money order payable to Empire Safety Council. Class is limited to 25 participants. Social distancing seats and masks are required. Registration is required. Call library to register.

Children’s programs
Page turners — Monday-Friday — July 1-July 30 — 10 am-5:30pm. Please refer to the calendar of events for children on our website
Too many tails! With Petra Puppets — Saturday — July 10 — 10:30 am-11:30am in the parking lot of the town hall of the village. Masks are compulsory for everyone from 2 years old. Please bring your chair. Email [email protected] to register.
Green Meadows Farm with Jason Reilly — Tuesday — July 13 — 11am via Zoom. Children of all ages are encouraged to learn more about frogs, insects and other animals. Email [email protected] to register. The Zoom link will be emailed to you.
STEM-tastic: Mythical Tales-Unicorns, Mermaids and Dragon Tails — Friday — July 20 — 11:00 am in the village hall meeting room for children of all ages. Explore a world of mythical creatures, create a rainbow in a bowl and build your own dragon. Masks are compulsory for everyone from 2 years old. Email [email protected] to register.
Reading to dogs with Bide-A-Wee — Thursday — July 22 — 11 am-12pm in the meeting room of the village hall. Masks are compulsory for everyone from 2 years old. Email [email protected] to sign up for a time slot (11 a.m., 11:20 a.m., 11:40 a.m. or 12 p.m.) First come, first served.
Final summer reading with Nick the Balloonatic — Saturday — August 7 — 11 am-12pm in the village hall parking lot. Masks are compulsory for everyone from 2 years old. Please bring your chair. The raffle prizes will be drawn and the winners announced. Email [email protected] to register.

Come to the library for a free craft for kids every Monday for Take and Make Mondays.
