Call for entries for the July 4 SummerFest fireworks and virtual children’s patriotic costume contest – Corridor News

SAN MARCOS – The 41st annual SummerFest fireworks show will take place on Sunday July 4th. There will be no festival or concert, but the public is invited to submit photos for the virtual children’s patriotic costume contest.

Fireworks show details

The fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. from the west parking lot of Bobcat Stadium behind HEB. Community members are encouraged to park and view the show from City Park, San Marcos Activity Center, Public Library, and Bobcat Stadium. Patriotic music will be broadcast simultaneously on radio station 89.9 KSTW. SummerFest is sponsored by the City of San Marcos, with assistance from the Lions Club of San Marcos, the San Marcos Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of San Marcos.

Costume competition information

The Patriotic Children’s Costume Contest is sponsored by the City of San Marcos and the San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. One winner will be selected to receive a prize package including a pass to Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park.

Photos should be sent to [email protected] by 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 26. Photos will be posted on the SMTX Community Services Facebook page and the winner will be determined by popular vote.
