Art on the Hill returns to Mantua

Mantua – Downtown Mantua Revitalization Corporation (DMRC) is delighted to announce the return of its popular and award-winning arts and crafts show, Art on the Hill, on Saturday, July 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on East Prospect Street in Mantua Village.
“We look forward to the excitement and energy of having events in town again,” said DMRC President Edie Benner. “And, of course, the chance for the artisans to exhibit their work and the cellars to show their wonderful wines!” Benner noted that Terri Vechery, Christine Pitsinger and the entire committee were working to keep the event safe, in accordance with current CDC guidelines. Vechery explained that an additional distance had been planned between the sellers in order to secure our visitors this year. She added: “Despite all the lockdowns during COVID-19, our little village has revitalized! Those who attend the festival will be amazed by our companies!

Using their hit formula, the arts and crafts event will feature artisans, merchants, and food. Of course, the wineries will also be there. The Art on the Hill and Wine Tasting Headquarters will be located in a tent on First Street where wine ticket sales and art auction tickets will be available for purchase.

Entertainment is planned in the veranda of the Granary building with shows scheduled throughout the day. Additionally, this year a children’s tent has been added, bringing something for everyone to Art on the Hill. The art auction will once again give participants the opportunity to bid on items with purchased tickets.

And if you’ve taken some great photos with your camera or phone, why not enter them in the photo contest? While the competition is open to photos of all kinds, photos from Mantua can be chosen to be part of the DMRC’s 2022 calendar. The photography competition will take place at the Five Five Media Studio in the Granary Building.

Vechery noted that vendor requests continue to come in daily, leading the DMRC to anticipate “a great festival with lots of food, great wine and entertainment – as well as awesome art! She noted that in addition to wonderful art, delicious food, fine wine and entertainment, the event will once again host an open photo competition, crafts auction. , a 50/50 raffle and lots of entertainment. The event is the DMRC’s largest fundraiser, made possible by generous sponsors and volunteers.
Vechery marveled, “This year seems to be an exciting year for Art on the Hill!” Benner and Vechery encourage locals and neighbors to spend July 10 in Mantua to join in the excitement.
